Let Freedom Ring, Fine Art Jewelry Exhibit
Nataly Balk (813) 728-4325

Singing Stone Gallery is proud to present Let Freedom Ring, an exhibition featuring handmade fine art jewelry by local goldsmith and designer Dan Balk. This jewelry show is a collection of rings that are inspired by the American spirit of individuality. Balk designs and fabricates every piece of jewelry from raw materials in his studio at Singing Stone. Dan´s expanding Summer Collection is for sale and on exhibit at the Gallery. Each piece is one of a kind, designed by Dan, who creates his own Sterling Silver, 18K and 14K gold alloys that he fashions, mills, forges, fuses and brazes into miniature sculptures for personal adornment. Dan selects and sets each stone, often performing his own lapidary work on select stones. This allows Dan complete contact and artistic connection with each piece of fine art jewelry from concept to collection.

The Let Freedom Ring Exhibit Opening Reception is on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 from 10:00 am - noon. The exhibit runs until Saturday, October 6th, 2012. This is an independent exhibition running concurrent with the Republican National Convention, Aug 27 - 30, 2012.

Singing Stone is a working studio and gallery featuring Dan Balk´s Fine Art Jewelry, eclectic contemporary craft and fine art produced by local artisans. The Gallery is owned and managed by Nataly Balk, who takes pride in exhibiting and supporting local and regional artists´ work. Singing Stone is located in Historic Ybor City at 1903 N. 19 St., Tampa, FL 33605. For more information, call (813) 247-2787 (ARTS), visit www.SingingStoneOnline.Com.

SEE THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL AND THE WHITE HOUSE
MADE FROM 30 TONS OF SAND AT THE BILMAR BEACH RESORT
TREASURE ISLAND – FLORIDA

The Sand Sculpture Capital of Florida Recognizes the
Republican National Convention in Florida Style!

TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – (August 6, 2012) – Thirty tons of imported sand will be used to create giant sand sculptures on the beach of Treasure Island behind the Bilmar Beach Resort. Sponsored by the Bilmar Beach Resort and Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach, “sand castle” versions of President Lincoln, the Lincoln Memorial and the White House will be reproduced, on a smaller scale, in conjunction with the Republican National Convention. The sand monuments will be a must-see attraction for the State Delegates and Visitors to the Tampa/St. Petersburg area during this historic time.

Combined 15-time World Champions Dan Doubleday and Meredith Corson, from Sanding Ovations, will be creating replicas of the Lincoln Memorial and the White House using only sand and water. Sculpting will begin Thursday, August 17th and will be complete by the start of the convention on Sunday August 26th. The artistic sand sculptures will be on public display until Monday, September 17th (weather permitting).

“Treasure Island is the Sand Sculpture Capital of Florida, so we thought it only appropriate to recognize this event with the art work of our world famous local artists in celebration of our nation’s political process,” stated Clyde Smith General Manager of the Bilmar Beach Resort. “We hope the Delegates and Visitors will make time to enjoy our beautiful beach and hospitality while visiting the Tampa Bay area.”

Sloppy Joe’s General Manager, Kevin Hintz added, “We are excited about the chance to showcase how beautiful our beach is to a new group of guests and the fact that the restaurants not only overlook the sand sculptures but are also the perfect location to enjoy a great frozen drink and dinner while watching the world famous sunsets of the Florida’s West Coast.”

About the Bilmar Beach Resort
The Bilmar Beach Resort is no stranger to hosting sand sculpting events as it has been the home to the Sanding Ovations International Master’s Cup and Music Festival every November since 2009 and the World’s Largest Sand Castle in 1985. These Patriotic themed sculptures are expected to draw crowds including RNC attendees, media and local area residents. The Bilmar celebrated its 50th Anniversary last December. The resort boasts 550 feet of beach front property with 165 guest rooms and suites. It is also home to Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach, celebrating a decade of outstanding food, beverage and fun. The Bilmar Beach Resort is located at 10650 Gulf Blvd., Treasure Island, FL 33706. For more information, visit www.BilmarBeachResort.com or call (727) 360-5531.
